Admission Requirements

A general Secondary School Certificate accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education or equivalent authority of the applicant’s country.
Only Applicants whose results are available at the time of application will be considered.
A copy of birth certificate or Passport.
Students will be admitted if he/she passes at least 50% of the total subjects.
Students will be admitted only if he/she earns 60% and more with the relevant subjects to the department.
Two color photographs (6×4 cm) for physical applicants.
Registration fees Payment of 50 Dollars (non-refundable).
All applicants should fill in the university enrollment form.

Transfer Credit Policy

Minimum GPA of 2.5 required
Only courses with grade C or better will transfer
Maximum 60 credit hours transferable
Credits must be from accredited institution recognized by GU
Transfer credits evaluated by academic department

Transfer students must complete at least 50% of their degree at Galkayo University to qualify for graduation.

Academic Excellence Scholarship

Objective: Recognize hard work and achievements of students.

Eligibility: Enrolled at GU, completed ≥50 credit hours, first scoring student in department for two semesters, cannot hold other scholarships simultaneously.

Sibling Scholarship Program

Objective: Support families sending more than one student to GU.

Eligibility: Siblings must be enrolled, cannot hold other scholarships simultaneously, undergraduate only.

Quran Scholarship Program

Objective: Promote Quran recitation, memorization, and application.

Eligibility: Enrolled at GU, cannot hold other scholarships simultaneously, undergraduate only, awarded to first-place winners of Ramadan contest.
