Scholarship Programs

Every scheme is open to enrolled Galkayo University students. A student may hold only one scholarship at a time.

Academic Excellence Scholarship

For: The top-scoring student in each department.

  • Enrolled at Galkayo University
  • Completed at least 50 credit hours
  • First-scoring student in the department for two consecutive semesters
  • Not holding another scholarship at the same time

Required documents: None — awarded automatically on academic records.

For: Families sending more than one student to GU.

  • Siblings enrolled at Galkayo University at the same time

Scholarship FAQ

Can I hold more than one scholarship at the same time?
No. Each scheme requires that the recipient does not hold another scholarship simultaneously.
Are postgraduate students eligible?
The Sibling and Quran scholarship programs are for undergraduate students only. For the Academic Excellence Scholarship, contact the Registrar’s office about your program level.
How is the Academic Excellence Scholarship awarded?
It goes to the first-scoring student in each department who has ranked top for two consecutive semesters and completed at least 50 credit hours. No application documents are needed — it is based on your academic record.
Do I need to submit documents to apply?
No documents are required for any of the three schemes. Eligibility is verified through university records and, for the Quran scholarship, the contest results.
Who do I contact about financial aid?
Visit the Registrar’s office at the Administration Building, Galkayo campus — Saturday to Wednesday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, Thursday 8:00 AM–1:00 PM.
